Healthcare reform. People hate it. So, the obvious thing for a Democrat to do? Villainize the people that make money from it (I say this assuming that making money from doing something well is a good thing, not a bad thing).

Obviously, the special interests are making this expensive. Doctors, hospitals, drug companies, all of those special interests that keep you healthy are just too darned expensive. So, it's their fault. Yeah, that makes sense.

Obama should have stopped when he was ahead. He has a horrible knack for attacking those who are trying to help us the most. Remember our soldiers "air-raiding villages and killing civilians"? Or how about anybody making over $250,000 that needs to pay more taxes (and provide less jobs)?

If the special interests truly own Washington, as Obama says, then Obama is basically playing their game. You have to remember that Acorn, a group critical to his election, is considered a special interest. If we want to kick doctors in the butt, let's take a look at Obama's closest friends as well.

Custom Search

True Healthcare Reform

It seems like every time I turn around, another Democrat is blasting the American public for being against the same model of socialized medicine that is failing in Canada, England, and elsewhere. Between Barney Frank, Nancy Pelosi, and Harry Reid, I can't tell which has the least likelihood of getting reelected next year. If their constituents had even the intelligence of test rats, their chances would probably go down another 50%. That being said, I am sure that three of the most partisan characters to ever disgrace the halls of Congress will find some way to even up the race before the elections.

The most recent news to come out of Canada is that their Parliament (yes, the government) is meeting this week to address the wait for MRI's. Currently, the average patient can expect a 4 month wait (when I tore my ACL in 2003, I waited two days for my first MRI--Saturday and Sunday, and then the second MRI to confirm the first was on Wednesday--how horrendous!). Now, the Parliament really wants to improve things. ONLY a two month wait! Yes, two months. For those of you who have ever broken a bone or torn cartilage, you know how painful it can be to not be fixed up. Now imagine waiting for months to get it fixed. That's change you can believe in, right?

The public option being proposed by Obama has been shown by the NON-PARTISAN CBO to actually increase healthcare costs in coming years even more than what they would have gone up without any reform. I thought the entire purpose of this Snipe Hunt was to lower costs in the first place?

Nah. I think paying back political allies (Unions...the "control everything" leftists...etc.) is probably more important.

Custom Search

Rule from the Center

One of Barack Obama's campaign promises was to rule from the center of the political spectrum, bringing Republicans and Democrats together. Two months in, after passing a stimulus package with more bi-partisan support against it than for it, the President is showing his true colors: a borrow and spend lefty with no intention of bringing both sides together.

So was it any surprise last night that Obama had to immediately bash Republicans for the debt that he "inherited?" This is just another classic example of a politician reaching for something that just isn't there. The Republicans were not the ones in power when the bailout was passed (the President was, but Congress was controlled heavily by Democrats). So shouldn't he point the blame where it mostly belongs-at his own party?

The fact of the matter is, under the Republican party in the early years of Bush, the largest deficits were still under $500 billion. Now, take a look at Obama's budget over the next eight years and it AVERAGES a $1 trillion deficit. That is "trillion" with a "t".

Generational theft can only work for so long. Eventually, China is going to stop buying US debt and then where can we turn? The left will, again, use this as an excuse to raise taxes on the hardest working Americans, while passing out billions in bailout money that still cannot be accounted for. Meanwhile, the same bankers that supported Obama over McCain are laughing, literally, all the way to the bank.

They Wanted Us To Fail

It seems like everywhere I look, Democrats are accusing Republicans and conservatives of wanting Obama to fail. Rush Limbaugh, the bastion of conservativism that has been hated by the left for nearly twenty years now, has become the main target of Democratic accusations. Limbaugh says it point blank: he wants Obama to fail. Not because Limbaugh wants America to fail, but because the policies that Obama wants to bring about WILL make America fail.

First off, Obama's stance on abortion and stem cell research cut to the core of Republican and conservative principles. Of course we want the world to look upon those policies as poor at best. Here we are, in the middle of a horrible economic crisis and the Democrats already piling up a deficit four times larger than Bush's worst (almost $2 trillion in debt, folks), and Obama wants to not only kill our own babies, but abort the rest of the world's as well. In his short sightedness, he forgets that we need those babies to pay our retirement because of another idiotic policy (social security) they tried and will fail at again in about ten years (when social security pays out more than it brings in).

Second, Obama wants to talk directly with Iran. Yes, the same Iran that called for Israel to be wiped off the face of the earth, has as state policy that woman are worth exactly 50% of what men are, and etc. Are we crazy? I am sure they will talk and he will come back just like Neville Chamerblain did after talking with Hitler (waving a paper, saying "we have peace!" right before Hitler destroyed Poland).

So what do you call it when Democrats wished that Bush's policy in Iraq would fail? Freedom goes against everything that the Democratic party stands for (higher taxes, controlled emissions on cars, the "fairness doctrine" that would shut down talk radio). So of course they wanted us to fail in Iraq; Democracy and equality just don't fit into the entire "we're better than you" thing they have going on.

I want Obama's policies to fail. There, I said it too. I think it sums it all up when China announces today that they are reconsidering all the money they have sunk into American debt. We can't repay it. As soon as they decide to stop giving us money to support our drunken spending spree, what happens?

America is still the greatest country in the world, without a doubt and far away. As conservatives, liberals, and moderates, we all know this. But we must fight to make sure that we don't abandon what got us to this point in the name of "equality." With every day that Obama spends in the White House, we get closer to looking like a wimpier version of France. That's why the fight needs to continue.

Obamanomics-The Verdict Is?

Obama has had over a month now to make his mark on the Presidency, our way of life, and our economy. While his Presidency has been a complete lie of what was promised (lobbyists, clarity, bi-partisanship, tax evasion scandals, etc.) and he has definitely had an impact on our way of life (socialism vs. capitalism, remember?), what has probably affected us the most is Obama's HORRENDOUS economic policy.

First, let me approach this from a populist sort of vision. Even if you think that Obama is making the right moves by bailing out every industry that has shed a tear during this recession, how can you justify giving American tax dollars to Wall Street while you and I are given something like $400 for a year? First of all, WE DON'T HAVE THE MONEY that he is giving away. Our children do. Excuse me, our children DID. What Obama is doing right now is no different than a father walking into an ice cream shop, finding his wallet empty, and stealing a dollar from his son to pay for his own ice cream while his son gets nothing. Would we ever view that as being courageous? OF COURSE NOT. So why the Hell does the media keep acting like Obama is walking on water by stealing from future generations?

The market reacts negatively every time this guy talks. He talks about raising taxes on the big bad energy companies to improve our situation. Folks, you can twist it any way that you want, but the truth is simple. Electrical companies will have to raise their rates. Gas prices will soar again. And then we'll be hurting. When input costs go up, companies inevitably look for somewhere else to do business. If you think I am lying, look at China. Cheap energy. True, it's dirty. But it's cheap. The same people that slam American companies for buying everything in China are the ones making it so hard to compete here in America.

So it's not wonder that nobody is buying stocks, nobody sees the end anytime soon, and the financial fallout will continue. The stock market is down 18% since Bush's last day in office. So much for hope (or was it hype?).

The market always knows best, and they know a bad policy when they see one. Obama's administration changes course every day, offering a new solution for a problem they promised would be solved yesterday. And it only keeps making things worse.

So, Mr. Obama, I invite you to GET OUT OF THE WAY. Politicians got us into this huge mess by forcing banks to make sub-prime loans (which Obama called a good idea once). They would do us all a huge favor by just locking themselves in their office, and shutting up.

Obama The Republican?

Democrats have got to be just fuming over the recent developments in the drama we have come to know as the "Obama Presidency." I will have to give credit to the President on this one, as he may have finally opened his eyes to something that most sane people (primarily Republicans and Joe Lieberman) realized long ago: the United States is at war with people that hate us.

The anti-war crowd (for fun: if a liberal ever tells you "War never solved anything!" you can say right back, "Right. Except for ending slavery, fascism, Nazism, and communism") put their full power and might behind the Savior in the election, and rightfully so. Obama constantly bashed the military, as proved by his "fire-bombing villages in Afghanistan" comment during the campaign. No wonder the Democratic party is wondering, "Where did our generation's Jane Fonda go?"

I am willing to bet ($5 to anybody willing) that Obama got into office, read the security briefings that President Bush got every day for eight years, and said, "Holy crap, he wasn't kidding." The last thing that Obama would ever want would be for somebody to dislike him! Just imagine how low Obama's popularity might go if an ex-Gitmo detainee re-joined the terrorist ranks and declared war on us infidels again. Wait a second, in Saudi Arabia right now an ex-Gitmo guy IS actually running Al-Qaeda. Wow.

So, I actually was surprised when Obama said he wouldn't be able to close Guantanamo for at least a year, and that the Iraq pullout would actually take longer than he originally predicted. Perhaps the man DOES have a mind of his own, and isn't completely owned by the crazy left-wingers that would love nothing more than to destroy America.

Don't get me wrong; I still think Obama would rather offer terrorists a warm cup of coffee than a jail cell (or the electric chair). But at least this was a little sign that, maybe somewhere, Obama has an ounce of common sense. Maybe. Then again, he is passing the worst economic agenda since...well...ever. I guess you win some, you lose some.

I will be absolutely amazed if Obama is elected again in 2012. His economic doomsday message, which he recently changed thanks to Bill Clinton, hasn't made things any better (who wants to buy things when your Savior-in-Chief keeps saying you're going to lose your job?). His foreign policy (see my exporting abortion article) is horrid. Socialism and class warfare have been tried before, and failed miserably on a large scale EVERY single time.

But, America is the land of optimism, and this time it screwed us over. A socialist wimp came in disguise as an agent of change, a uniter, and the man of hope. America, always an experiment in Democracy, took this one too far.

Custom Search

var gaJsHost = (("https:" == document.location.protocol) ? At 7 P.M. the White House released a statement, in which Obama proclaimed, "I have no desire to continue this stale and fruitless debate."

So here we are, with a nearly two trillion dollar national debt expected for his first year in office, and Obama feels that it is the duty of the United States to encourage abortions throughout the world. Talk about repairing an image! I am sure that funding abortions in Africa will repair our image overnight. Keep in mind that Islam and Christianity are the dominant religions in Africa, taking nearly 90% of the population. Last time I checked, they were pretty opposed to the entire "stick something inside a women to kill a living being" thing.

That is how arrogant of a leader we have elected. He believes that since he won 52% of the popular vote, he has been given a mandate for extreme "change". Aren't we glad that with the economy melting down, two wars going on overseas, and a stimulus package going through that the American people are opposed to, the President is still finding time to kill babies?

Here we have a man who cannot even get his own appointees right, let alone trying to figure out our economy. Now we have him promoting something that he was quoted as saying, "That question is above my pay-grade." So, as one of his first acts in office, he okays funding abortions here and overseas with OUR tax dollars.

The Democrats are the FIRST ones to always complain about a lack of funding. "Our schools don't get enough money. Our healthcare system doesn't get enough money. Homeless people don't get enough money." But hey, here's a chance to kill babies, so we certainly can't pass up the opportunity! Imagine how much those millions, maybe even billions, of dollars could help out all of the OTHER causes that might actually deserve it.

But I guess Obama will just settle for state-sponsored genocide, because that is what abortion is (42 million abortions in 2006). The Holocaust, one of the worst atrocities in world history, killed 6 million Jews. SEVEN TIMES AS MANY BABIES ARE ABORTED EVERY YEAR THAN JEWS WERE KILLED IN THE HOLOCAUST.

So here we have a President who says he cares about the average man and Americans of all walks of life. If he can't even care for a baby, which his radical history on abortion certainly shows, how the Hell can he care about the "average man"?

This Just In-Automobiles Invented In America!

For those of you who haven't been watching the news lately, our Liar-In-Chief was at it again last night. "And I believe the nation that invented the automobile cannot walk away from it." The Library of Congress attributes the invention of the automobile to Karl Benz. Throw this into the list of lies that Obama continues to spin to get his agenda passed.

Obama has a huge political debt to repay the unions-especially from the UAW. It is only through government assistance (thus, our tax dollars) that GM and Chrysler can remain competitive. Why is this? Why is it that GM and Chrysler continue to shut down plants, while foreign competitors continue to build new plants in the non-union (and, dare I say, "harder-working") southern states?

When GM and Chrysler went to automate their plants years ago, the UAW had an uproar. How dare a company want to improve efficiencies and competitiveness! It has come back to roost, now. And Obama, after signing into law his "Obama/Democrat Reward Failure Act of 2009" is still feeding at the trough of the union bosses.

Keep in mind, unions account for less than 15% of all laborers in the United States (who, last time I checked, had the most powerful economy in the world and greatest income per citizen-but nevermind that fact). True, years ago unions were very necessary to improve conditions for workers in plants and factories. But times have changed. With all the labor protection laws in place now, unions should be a dying breed.

The best example of union incompetency perhaps lies in school districts. Take Los Angeles. Between 1995 and 2005, only 112 tenured teachers in Los Angeles lost their jobs (out of 43,000). Hmm...11 teachers per year, getting fired for incompetency, at a district where the graduation rates hover at 51%. It's no wonder that unions constantly fight against school vouchers: they would completely destroy the most corrupt and inept public schools.

Back to my main point-Obama lies to get his agenda approved. Did anybody stop to really think about his massive spending plan? How do we measure a job that is preserved? When does that start? Is my job writing this blog preserved because Obama decided to pass the stimu-lie?

We are over a month in, and the American people have more questions than they do answers. The largest question: "Does he really think we're that stupid?"

Custom Search

var gaJsHost = (("https:" == document.location.protocol) ? He said there was "broad support" in the Congress and throughout the United States for this bill (even though he got only 3 total Republican votes and many polls indicated that support was under 50% from the public). Mr. President-if there was such broad support, why did you break your campaign promise and not wait 5 full days to let the American people see it before you signed it? More importantly, if time was of the "essence" as you stated, why did you have time to fly on Air Force One (at $200,000 per hour) to Chicago for Valentine's day before you flew to Denver (again at $200,000 per hour) to sign this legislation?

He knows the answers. He knows that the American people would be DISGUSTED if they actually took a look inside this bill. That's why he rushed the bill through congress. That's why he lied about having bi-partisan support for it. And oh Mr. President, that younger generation you promised the American dream to? YOUR OWN GAO SAYS THAT THIS BILL WILL LOWER GDP IN THE FUTURE. Lower GDP will mean lower average incomes, and lower tax revenues, but I guess Economics 101 wasn't your subject? What about the youth that you promised to protect but just saddled with tens of thousands of dollars more in debt-EACH?

You lied to the American people and said there was a "popular consensus" among all economists that this plan would create 3 to 4 million new jobs (there are several great economists that doubt your plan). You lied to the American people about not having any lobbyists in your administration (currently 12). And you lied to the American people about bringing "change" and decency back to the White House.

All that the President has brought to the White House is the same tired policies of the past that led us to the Carter Years and the Great Depression. God be with us as we try to cope with yet another idiotic liberal trying to run the economy.

Ladies and Gentlemen, YOUR $789 Billion

Well, the Democrats did it. Nobody else can take credit for this. If it succeeds, Democrats will be cheered as the saviors of an economy that was faltering. If it fails, Democrats should never get another vote in elections again.

Why am I so harsh? Because this kind of thing has been tried before, and it failed then, too. Remember the New Deal? I am sure your college professors have told you how much of a "success" this was. But look at us now, over 70 years after the New Deal, and the large "reforms that were put in (the SEC, Fannie Mae, and Social Security) are now the things causing us the most problems.

Take the SEC. Designed to make sure that securities were traded in a appropriate manner, the companies that have stocks behave in an appropriate manner, and the actual brokers that handle the trading. Hmm...that all sounds great and dandy, but how have they done? Take a look at Bernie Madoff. That's all I should need to say (the man schemed people out of $50 BILLION dollars).

Fannie Mae? Those are your tax dollars now supporting sub-prime mortgages my friends. Yeah, those people making $35,000 a year but living in a $600,000 house. We are paying for it now. And Social Security? For those of you young people who voted for Obama over McCain, look at it this way: you gave government permission to keep taking your money, giving it to a program that will go bankrupt before you ever see a penny. If the President is truly a pillar of "change", he will stick up for our generation and take on Social Security. I wouldn't hold your breath.

The point of all of this is that government intervention often times lead to worse consequences that what we would have experienced had we just sat still. Who is going to use tax dollars better? YOU or Nancy Pelosi (see previous post about mice-yes, mice). Who in their right mind thinks that the government can spend money better than its citizens (bridge to nowhere-$24.5 billion missing from government in 2003-$55,000 to a fake college in 2002 from the Department of Education)? Honestly, when the government is taking 25 to 40% of your earnings, doesn't it just eat you alive?

By the way, the non-partisan CBO tells us that with this spending will result in a decrease in the United States GDP in the long-term. Don't you love short sightedness?

Thank you to the Republicans that voted against this massive spending bill. It's about time we had somebody standing up for what is right in Washington.

According to Heritage.org, the conservative thinktank, 62% of Americans polled wanted to the stimulus to have more tax cuts and less government spending. Maybe we are not a nation that is as stupid as Obama would have us think, after all.

We deserve better than this folks. Don't let your memory fail you four years from now when we truly get to choose between more of the same and "change."

Custom Search

Nancy Pe-lousy, and the Three Blind Mice

"There will be no pork in this stimulus bill," said President Obama. What about mouse? Can we eat mouse?

Nancy Pelosi (I like Pe-lousy better) has been a champion for the "salt marsh harvest mouse" for years. Guess what stimulus package has $30 million built into it for the little buggers? Yeah, that $789 billion piece of trash that is being finalized in Congress right now.

$30 million. A city nearby me is actually going to be building a new water treatment plant (so they can drink water without fear of bacteria) for $25 million in the upcoming months. In a town of 10,000, that equates to about $2500 per citizen. That is how far the liberals have taken this entire crusade of environmentalism. Water for 10,000, or save some obscure mouse that nobody has ever heard of anyways? I thought the entire point of having mice was to get rid of them?

Let's look at this from a completely different scope. Things are so bad, that Senator Judd Gregg (Obama's Commerce appointee) decided that enough was enough. The stimulus package, in his eyes, was so bad that he doesn't want his name anywhere near it. So he quit. He withdrew his name (but I am impressed that somebody quit the Cabinet without being accused of tax evasion or pay to play!).

The stimulus being pushed is outrageous. Imagine how much you pay in taxes every year. Now, over the next two years, if the stimulus is signed, Congress is going to add $30,000 in new debt per household based on a 1933 style economic plan. THE NEW DEAL FAILED, people. It kept us in recession longer than necessary and never got unemployment under control like promised.

The economy may be crashing down around us and Congress is destroying our future, but hey.

Nancy Pelosi will have her mice.

Custom Search

Stimulus or Stimu-lie?

Has anybody else noticed how dire Barack Obama's warnings have become over the last few weeks? "The stimulus package must pass soon, or else the recession might be irreversible." Come on, are we really supposed to keep believing this guy?

First of all, let's go all the way back to October when Obama was telling us the exact same thing. We needed to pass the bailout and "fast" or else we would face the worst of the worst. Well, $350 billion later, the economy is still floundering and nobody can track where all of that TARP money went (although I am willing to bet a lot of that money is padding the pockets of rich Obama donors...change, right?).

So was it so shocking to taxpayers when we learned that Obama had more Wall Street support than McCain did? Over $1.5 million from Lehman Brothers executives. Goldman Sachs? Over $690,000 for Obama. Morgan Stanley? Over $300,000 to Obama.

And now, all these banks took tax money and are asking for more. Not to get credit flowing again, but to keep the pockets of their richest stuffed full. And remember how that bill got passed into law? We were told by lawmakers that there was "no time to waste" and that "days spent waiting are days making things worse." Do we see a similarity between that and the current stimulus bill before Congress?

No wonder the President is pushing so hard to pass this bill without public scrutiny. Once the public found out there was over $200 million in the bill for treating sexual diseases and millions more to re-turf the mall in Washington, D.C., there was outcry. How do you avoid outcry? Simple. Do the exact opposite thing that Barack Obama promised the American people: hurry bills through Congress without people noticing (thus losing that entire “transparency” thing he talked about). Fact is, the more that people find out about it, the more they oppose the stimu-lie.

How can you promise the creation of 3 to 4 million jobs? The truth? You can't. Here is Barack Obama telling us that this massive stimu-lie is all good, when he is forgetting to tell the youth voters-such as myself-that SOMEBODY is going to have to pay for all of this someday. How will we pay for it? Massive tax increases. There's just no other way.

The President will rely on the laziness of Americans, and their unwillingness to study this bill, to get his massive spending agenda passed. That's how he got elected, too.

Change has Come, and it Looks Familiar

Barack Obama ran his campaign on a central promise: he would bring change to America. All through the election cycle, posters were hung everywhere proclaiming that “change is coming” and “change is good.” The main stream media, eager to bring this “change” to America, quickly embraced Obama and made him their candidate of choice. Mr. Obama promised to bring transparency to government, fix the corruption in the system, and recreate the American dream.

Obama’s first major move while on the political scene was choosing his Vice President. Change first came to the Obama ticket with 35 years of Senate experience and behind the scenes political wrangling.

Okay. I will admit it was probably a wise decision on Mr. Obama’s part to ask somebody with more experience to help him manage our country. I mean, after all, President Obama’s own senate history is hardly long enough for him to have all the answers necessary from a president. So I let that one go. But now, the idea of “change” has gone completely out the window, and the mainstream media is giving the President a free pass.

Secretary of State? Hillary Clinton. Now, Hillary in herself may not be so bad (I wouldn’t vote for her, but she is experienced) but the ties that came along with her are too big to ignore. Her husband and former President, Bill Clinton, took home nearly $5 million in speaking fees from foreign sources last year. Is that not a conflict of interest? Here we have possibly the most powerful woman in the world, laying out United States foreign policy, and her husband is basically on the payroll of foreigners?

And now, change has continued to come, and it keeps looking more and more familiar. Obama promised government accountability; then, he named a tax cheat to be the Secretary of Treasury and head of the IRS. Rahm Emanuel, a fellow Illinois politician with his own history of trouble (yeah, the guy that stabbed a knife into a table at a banquet and kept shouting out names followed by “dead”) is the new White House Chief of Staff. And what about Obama’s now defunct appointee for Health and Human Services? Tom Daschle owed over $100,000 in back taxes. Keep in mind that one of Obama’s promises was to raise taxes, and now he is appointing people to positions that aren’t even paying taxes themselves!

To top things all off, one of the largest bills in United States history, a stimulus package worth over $800 billion dollars, is on its way to being passed in both the House and the Senate. What the President has forgotten to mention to those who voted for him, especially the college and youth vote, is that they are the ones who will be paying off this debt for years and years to come. Isn’t spending beyond our means (ever heard of sub-prime lending?) what got us mostly into this mess in the first place?

We can’t fix the economy by spending more. We learned that with the New Deal (contrary to popular belief, unemployment still hovered between 10 and 25% throughout the duration of the New Deal), and were reminded of this over the last eight years. I think that President Obama’s “change” looks a little too familiar for my tastes.

So finally, here I am...

I have wanted to start a blog for the last five years, and I finally had the time one day to sit down and do it.
